Review: A warm welcome back to Louie Fresco, a producer whose "Autophobia" album was arguably one of the most overlooked deep house releases of Astonishingly, the "Black Wax EP" is the Mexican's first missive of any sort for almost three years. The epic title track is especially good, offering a locked-in but bouncy trip into late night house territory that sits somewhere between mids.

 · Jake Holmes’ first album, 'The Above Ground Sound', generated an amazing level of interest. Of course, the fact that the album included 'Dazed And Confused' had quite a lot to do with it, but it soon became apparent that Holmes’ music, along with the work of a number of other male singer-songwriters is enjoying a bit of a renaissance at the moment.

  1. The Science. The auditory cortex is where earworms do most of their karaoke routine. This is a part of the brain that does a lot of the processing of sounds, including music. It is also where musical memories are stored. This was the finding of researchers at Dartmouth College.

  2. The following is a list of songs that have been the subject of plagiarism disputes. In several of the disputes the artists have stated that the copying of melody or chord progression was unconscious. In some cases the song was sampled or covered. Some cases are still awaiting litigation.

  3. Review: Berlin-based producer Oskar Offermann is a relative unknown, having released just a handful of tracks and remixes to date. Here he sets out his stall with a debut album full of atmospheric deep house goodness. There's a loose, languid late night vibe to proceedings, but the grooves are tough enough to suggest that most of the tracks will hold their own in a club environment.
